Michelle Héon

In Michelle Héon’s latest photography project, the selected images attribute a certain spirituality as well as a complex poetic charge to her work. She successfully conveys the picturability of liquids using a camera and the photographs encourages debate between what is seen and what is imagined. She explains her method as a way of « discovering our immediate environment and creating moments of escape: from the ordinary comes the extratordinary, an improvement of the day to day, or a new outlook on life from the point of view of a traveller. These images are named after their places of origin. If they seem exotique for certain people, others will have a different experience and this travel journal will appear very familiar. »

Michelle Héon shows her work equally in Montréal and France, as we have seen through exhibits such as …et toutes les gouttes de la mer… presented at Galerie Trois-Points, Tsunami at The Beetroot Tree Draycott Gallery in Derbyshire, England, or the installation Plis d’eau for the Festival de Trop in Paris.
