Monica Tap is an artist whose many activities involve exploring questions of time and representation in painting. Her practice creates and opens up a space between landscape and abstraction, and navigates the terrain between painting and other media. Her current work is based on Quicktime videos of the landscape captured while traveling by train or car. Over the past ten years, her canvases have been exhibited in Canada, the USA and Britain; most recently, Seance at Thatcher Projects in New York City.
